Our purpose

Climate change and poverty are linked. And the solution to both is trees, and food.

Trees are wondrous. They are the lungs of the planet, storing up carbon and keeping it from the atmosphere where it damages our climate. But, in Africa, forests are disappearing fast. Every minute we are losing an area the size of eight football pitches. We need to stop and rewind that now.

Why are trees disappearing?

It’s happening because of poverty. 70% of the population of sub-Saharan Africa are small-scale farmers with limited resources. To survive, they clear the forest and grow what they can.

What can we do about it?

We can make a difference by financing farmers to farm sustainably: donating long-lasting fruit and nut trees that enable them to earn more while supporting the environment.

What is sustainable farming?

It’s all about high-value repeat crops, trees that can be harvested again and again. Crops that produce yummy organic foods like avocados, cocoa, and macadamia nuts. Growing these crops increases the tree population and restores land that used to be forest.

We’re joining up the pieces

We’re here to get food lovers actively involved in providing tree crops for farmers. We’re promoting farming know-how on the ground. And, we’re creating a market for the gorgeous organic produce.

We know farmers in Africa, and we know it works. All we need is a crowd who believes it too.
